WEIGH-IN 5 PM AND FIRST BOUT STARTS 7 PM SHARP
On June 29 and 30, 2012 the Long Island Amateur Boxing Championships and Charities Inc. will have its inaugural Scholastic Boxing Championships at Gleason’s Boxing Gym located at 77 Front Street, 2nd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Participants will receive a LIABC Scholastic T-shirt; winners will be award a trophy while the runner up will receive a medal.
Coaches who wish to enter their boxers are asked to submit a list with the following information on each participant: first and last names, city of school attending, name of school, grade (i.e. 8th, 9th, 10th etc), weight, and record (win-loss). Mail info to: Long Island Amateur Boxing Championships and Charities Inc at 568 Wadleigh Ave, West Hempstead, NY 11552 or e-mail at mmac9765@juno.com.
Both coaches must agree on the match and their contact info will be exchanged between the two individuals. Once both coaches agree on the match, then the said match will be confirmed when be receive $ 20 from each participant. All fees must be in the form of a money order or certified check. No cash will be accepted and the fees are non refundable.
Rules of the championships will be in consistent with club rules of USA BOXING club shows rules of competition. All boxers’ ages 8 thru 16 are welcome to participate in these junior championships.
Once a bout is confirmed, it will be posted on our web site at: www.liamateurboxing.com. News Media have already confirmed their coverage of the event and this competition will give junior boxers exposure and promote amateur boxing in our efforts to get the sport in the schools.
