The Long Island Amateur Boxing Championships was established on October 7, 2006 by Michael Carryl at the Kennedy Memorial Park in Hempstead. The tournament was founded with the following objectives: 1) Assist with the development of boxing in the local areas, and 2) Establish a scholarship fund to support young boxers in their academic aspirations.

The mission of the Long Island Amateur Boxing Championships and Charities is to promote the pursuit of academic excellence among young athletes, particularly boxers, to achieve their highest potentials, encourage behavior that will produce productive citizens, well rounded individuals with life skills to function in society through mentoring, professional counseling, caring and committed volunteers.
VISION
To see that every young athlete, particularly boxers in USABOXING-METRO Inc receive the academic support necessary to achieve basic competency in academic skills to lead successful lives in and out of the ring.

Long Island Amateur Boxing Championships and Charities Inaugural Scholastic Boxing Championships
[June 29 & 30, 2012]
The Long Island Amateur Boxing Championships and Charities Inc will be hosting its first Scholastic boxing championships on June 29 & 30, 2012 at Gleason’s Gym. This championship is open to all junior boxers currently enrolled in school and is a member of USA Boxing.
